I realize I never touched on European GDP.

Truthfully I stopped looking at European GDP years ago (2017) because it was basically always at 0 or negative. The release this morning was the same. GDP growth of 0.2%, while inflation of 7.5% for Q1. Thats stagflation. The European Union has been in stagflation for at least 5 years with only a few brief periods of growth. This mornings report was a nothingburger to me, but I forget that not everyone else has my perspective on Europe. Just know that growth in the EU is typically negative and that this is normal, and not cause for any additional alarm over the alarm that should already be felt in relation to Europe.

If I were Elon I'd just focus on getting the existing companies to perform at their potential. Twitter is an international town square and it had so much potential. They made a decision to selectively eliminate long tail subcultures that didn't fit their worldview. That was a mistake & I'd like to see that fixed before moving on to other acquisitions.

The other thought is I'd like to see him buy or develop a nuclear power company as a power source for all this electricity that's currently generated with fossil fuels. I still think that's a better bet than renwables.

It is interesting to think about whether Elon is stretching himself too thin. For instance, does his staff at SpaceX have the ability to work autonomously without much input from him at this point? Or is his active participation 10+ hours a day required for it to function. Similar questions about Tesla. Elon is no longer chariman of the board of directors circa 2018, so I do wonder how much input is required from him to keep Tesla going at this point. Same for the Boring company.

I found that in my previous employment there were certain people who would bee brought in to jumpstart development in a new sphere, and then once it was up and running and processes were in place, they would be replaced with someone who had a more managerial bent and we would just consult the original head occasionally from there on out. It could be Elon's role is more of the entrepreneurial side of getting things started, and then handing them off to more managerially minded people. I think the issues he had with the SEC in 2018 were indicative of this side of his personality, and maybe its best for him to step back once his projects are off the ground.

But I am speculating here, and don't really know if thats the case or if he may be neglecting the needs of his other companies. Hard to tell with him. I do wish him the best though and hope he succeeds.

That's a great point- how he allocates his time has everything to do with which direction to take next. I doubt he'd be able to do what he does without having the right people in place to do the tasks that are outside the scope of his highest value activities. Likewise though, I wish him the best. Twitter hasn't been this entertaining in years.

If I were in Elon's position, I would look into energy production. He has a space exploration company, an electric vehicle company, and another transportation company (Boring company). I'm sure there would be lots of roadblocks and reasons why it isn't reasonable, but the only thing that could tie it all together is some innovation in nuclear fission energy that could solve the issues with waste, hazards, and costs. That would be my humanitarian contribution.

For my own personal entertainment, I can't think of a better idea than what he is doing now with buying twitter and (hopefully) allowing unmoderated speech on platforms and enjoying the seething o7
